Scrapbook Retreat in Wisconsin

All I can say is that this is too cool for words. I am at a great house in Wisconsin Dells, called Magnoliaridge Retreat. It is wonderful! Last night however the power did go out and here I am scrapbooking by candle light. I did not drive ( really ride) 500 miles to be in the dark. Fortunately it only lasted an hr.
I will post more with pictures later.

Race for the Cure

Well I finally did it! No I didnt race or walk it, but I did volunteer at a waterstation. My employer, Rehabcare, hosted a waterstation this year and asked for volunteers. So Angie (one of my best and dearest friends) and I went to help. We had to get up at the crack of dawn, to meet at 6:30 am to get to downtown St.Louis by 7:30 to help set up. Most of the others there were from our corp office, very nice people and great to finally put a face to a name. The weather has pretty good, not too hot and a rare breeze once an awhile. We help serve over 9200 cups of water, and the event raised $3.3 million
It was great to be a part of this event, I was very proud of the fact that I handled it well emotionally and only cried alittle. Every other time for the past 3 years, just seeing it on TV I would ball like a baby.
If you click on the bottom picture, it will give you a close up of some of the people that walked past Union Station. They said they were expecting over 70,000 participants. Amazing!
Thanks for everyone who donated on my behalf to this great cause.

Here are some quotes on a frame I made to hang at our therapy clinic. I used some inexpensive picture/frames I picked up at the flea market for $5 for all 3, and took the pictures out. I used vinyl and cut out the quotes using the wishblade, and used some simple embellishes to dress them up.
Work had a contest "while you were out" and we each had to clean up or redo our gym/clinics. The winner gets a Wii to use in their clinic. Our facility has a Wii we use with our patients, but we wanted to get one to keep in our gym. I just got the Wii fit for home and we love it, so if we can win the Wii, we are getting the Wii fit to go with it.
If we win, then we are planning a ribbon cutting , and 1 year celebration for the community, then we can show off all the cool things you can do with the Wii and Wii fit for therapy/rehab.

Enough is enough

Okay, I have had enough. I have to win the lottery or something big. I have had NO time at all to do anything therapeutic! And vacation doesn't count. By therapeutic I mean me time, scrapbooking, papercrafting, cardmaking, time in my little happy place. I am so in need of just going down into my scrapbook room and shutting the world out and creating something. There just isnt enough time in the day sometimes though. So if I could win the lottery then I could quit my wonderful job, stay home and play. I am not one of those people who would get bored, I could always find something to do.
So I have to make a vow to myself and the blogging world to set time aside for me. It is my therapy and helps me be a happier me. So wish me luck, cause I am going to need it.

Well we are back and had a great time! This is our catch for our day of fishing. We were suppose to be out for 12 hrs. Yea, 12 long, hot, sweaty, smelly hrs, in the hot sun, fishing. Now keep in mind I do get sea sick, and had already had 5 days of quality time with my wonderful family. My DH wanted to go deep sea fishing on vacation again, because we all had such a great time last time. We went out for 4 hrs the last time and naturally that wasnt long enough. So this time we had to be out longer. But 12 hrs, I dont think so. Fortunately we caught our limit within 8 hrs, so we were able to head back to shore alitte eariler.
It was a great day and very successful. My brother who had never caught a fish before, not only caught 5 fish, but brought in the first keeper. Yea Tony.
